Priscilla Abby, Layla Sania and Vanessa Reynauld Unite for "Same Sky," a Multilingual Anthem Celebrating Malaysia's Diversity

KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA — In celebration of Malaysia's National Day, Priscilla Abby, Layla Sania, and Vanessa Reynauld have come together for the first time to release "Same Sky", an uplifting anthem that celebrates unity, diversity and the shared experiences that connect Malaysians from all walks of life.

Blending heartfelt storytelling with an uplifting pop sound, Same Sky reflects the spirit of multicultural Malaysia. Sung in English, Malay, Mandarin and Tamil, the song embraces the country's multilingual identity, weaving together the languages that naturally coexist in everyday life.

Lyrics such as "Different words but tears the same," and "We all fall, we all try, Different dreams, same sky," capture a universal message: regardless of language, ethnicity or cultural background, everyone longs for understanding, belonging and happiness.

The song closes with the multilingual refrain "Kita Sama," "我们一样" (We Are the Same), and "Naamellaam Ondreedhaan" (We Are All One), reinforcing its message that while Malaysians may come from different backgrounds, they share the same hopes, emotions and home under one sky.

Adding a uniquely Malaysian touch, Same Sky also incorporates elements from the beloved traditional game "Lat Tali Lat." Familiar to generations of Malaysians across different communities, the nostalgic melody serves as a reminder of childhood memories shared beyond racial and cultural boundaries. The creative team hopes this familiar element evokes a sense of togetherness while highlighting the values of friendship, inclusion and growing up side by side.

The concept behind the music video honours the everyday Malaysians who, from before independence to today, have quietly helped build the nation. Across generations, much has changed, but the dreams passed from one family to the next remain the same: a better future, a better life for those they love, and a place they can always be proud to call home.

The collaboration also marked the first time the three artists worked together, bringing a lively energy both on and off camera. Close in age and equally vibrant in personality, Priscilla, Layla and Vanessa filled the music video set with laughter throughout filming.

Their chemistry extended beyond the cameras. As accomplished vocalists, spontaneous sing-alongs became a regular occurrence whenever one of them casually started a melody and the others instinctively joined in.
