4. Night at the Museum: Kahmunrah Rises Again

A family favourite gets reanimated as eight years after Larry Daley says goodbye to the Museum of Natural History, his son returns to take up his father’s mantle. His journey as the museum’s night guard seems to go well as he reunites with old friends but things start to take a turn when Kahmunrah rises again. Now fate rests on Nick’s shoulders to save the museum once and for all.

THE WALT DISNEY COMPANY ASIA PACIFIC TO SHOWCASE THEATRICAL AND STREAMING CONTENT SLATE FOR 2023 | Disney and leading Japanese publishing house Kodansha expand strategic collaboration to include anime, starting with ‘Tokyo Revengers: Christmas Showdown Arc’ which will launch exclusively on Disney’s streaming service worldwide 

Over 50 shows will be presented at Disney’s Content Showcase to international press and partners including upcoming slate of movies and series from Marvel Studios, Walt Disney Animation Studios, Pixar, Lucasfilm as well as expanding collection of APAC Originals for Disney+ and Disney+ Hotstar

At a star-studded press and partner event at Singapore’s iconic Marina Bay Sands today, The Walt Disney Company Asia Pacific will showcase its upcoming slate of movies from its major studios and unveil an expanding collection of APAC Originals for its streaming service, told by some of the world’s best storytellers. 

Over 50 shows from Disney’s 2023 theatrical and streaming content slate will be presented to over 400 international press and partners. Some of the celebrities in attendance include the cast and creative minds behind Disney’s APAC Originals -- Japanese director Miike Takashi, Korean stars Jung Haein, Ko Kyungpyo and Kim Hyejun from the crime fantasy thriller Connect; Lee Donghwi, Heo Sungtae and acclaimed director Kang Yunsung from Big Bet; Yuya Yagira, Riho Yoshioka and director Shinzo Katayama from Japanese drama series Gannibal; and Chelsea Islan from the upcoming Indonesian super hero series Tira. Pixar’s director/animator/storyboard artist/voice actor Peter Sohn, director of the all-new, original feature film, Elemental, will also be at the event. 

“Last October, at our first APAC Content Showcase, we made our first step into local content production with an ambitious, long-term plan to uncover the world’s best stories from this region, and to showcase creative excellence that can shine on the world stage,” said Luke Kang, President, The Walt Disney Company Asia Pacific in his opening remarks. “This year, it was important for us to showcase the breadth of our global branded content from our award-winning studios and iconic franchises, as well as our APAC content slate for 2023.”

Over the last year, over 45 new APAC titles have sunrised on Disney’s streaming service, with several shows gaining commercial and critical success. Big Mouth, Soundtrack #1 and IN THE SOOP: Friendcation were among the top three most watched titles in the majority of APAC markets in their premiere week. The total hours of locally-produced Asian content streamed on Disney+ is eight times more than it was a year ago.

“We are focusing our content development on what we refer to as our content whitespace,” said Mr. Kang. “Investing in areas that require more local specificity – either due to high popularity in select markets, like Japanese Anime, K-Dramas or Indonesia rom-coms and horror, or the need for local storytelling with talent that are familiar to our local audiences. We want to serve our viewers in every market with globally branded content like Disney, Marvel, Star Wars and Pixar, as well as locally produced stories that resonate with them – while also taking the best of those stories global.”

The Walt Disney Company Asia Pacific also announced today an expansion of its long-standing collaboration with leading publishing house Kodansha to include Japanese anime. For 70 years, Disney and Kodansha have worked together in the publishing space, and will now venture into the world of anime. This expanded collaboration will include licensing exclusive SVOD anime titles based on manga produced by Kodansha, starting with Tokyo Revengers: Christmas Showdown Arc that will launch exclusively on Disney+ and Disney+ Hotstar in January 2023. Disney’s streaming services now reach over 235 million subscribers across 154 markets worldwide.

“The special relationship between Kodansha and Disney stretches back over 70 years, and has seen us bring to life many Disney licensed publications,” said Yoshinobu Noma, Kodansha Representative Director and President. “With today’s announcement, we are thrilled to be able to further diversify and elevate the relationship between our two companies and share even more of our beloved anime titles with the world on Disney+ and its streaming platforms."

As part of Disney’s International Content & Operations, the new APAC projects that will be unveiled today will include original productions by leading content creators. The slate will feature star-studded scripted live action tent-pole series including drama, comedy, fantasy, romance, science-fiction, crime, horror; to variety shows, documentaries and anime from several markets including Japan, South Korea, Indonesia and Australia. The new projects unveiled today are part of Disney's ambition to greenlight over 50 APAC Originals by 2023.

Several of Korea’s biggest entertainment stars and creatives touched down in Singapore today to attend the Disney Content Showcase. Featuring announcements for over 50 titles, including an upcoming slate of movies and series from Marvel Studios, Walt Disney Animation Studios, Pixar, Lucasfilm and an expanding collection of APAC Originals for Disney+ and Disney+ Hotstar, day one of the showcase delighted Korean drama and K-pop fans with exciting updates for over a dozen shows set to launch on Disney’s streaming service in the next year and beyond.

Hosted at Singapore’s iconic Marina Bay Sands, some of the top talent from Big Bet, Connect, and the newly announced series Call It Love were on stage at the showcase to share details of what audiences can expect from the upcoming series.

With all episodes to launch on Disney+, Disney+ Hotstar and Hulu on December 7, Connect stars Jung Haein as Ha Dongsoo - a new type of immortal human known as a “connect”, who is kidnapped by a gang of organ harvesters determined to take his eyes. During the showcase, Korean stars Jung Haein, Ko Kyungpyo, Kim Hyejun and legendary Japanese director Miike Takashi made appearances on stage, sharing their excitement about the upcoming series with over 400 international press and partners in attendance.

Big Bet stars Lee Donghwi and Heo Sungtae, and director Kang Yunsung also made an appearance to promote this upcoming tale of a man who struggles to become a casino mogul but soon after hits rock bottom due to a chain of unfortunate events. Set to debut on Disney+, 

Disney+ Hotstar and Hulu on December 21, Big Bet also stars legendary Old Boy actor Choi Minsik in his first return to TV in 25 years.

Director Lee Kwangyoung and stars Kim Youngkwang and Lee Sungkyoung rounded out the Korean segment’s surprise appearances to officially announce their Korean drama Call It Love, which is set to launch on Disney+ next year. Centered around the main protagonist, Woojoo, Call It Love follows her on a downward spiral after she discovers her father’s infidelity. Woojoo’s situation goes from bad to worse when her father unexpectedly dies and his mistress kicks her out of the family home, but while she plans her revenge, Woojoo begins to fall in love with a man who turns out to be the son of the woman who ruined her life.

Big Bet, Connect and Call it Love were just a few of the newly announced Korean series updates from today’s content showcase, including:

🎬Moving: Starring Ryu Seungryong, Han Hyojoo and Zo Insung, Moving is based on a popular webtoon by Kang Full and tells the story of three teenagers who discover they’ve inherited unusual powers from their secret agent parents.

🎬The Worst of Evil: Set in 1990s Korea, The Worst of Evil follows an investigative taskforce as their undercover officer, Park Joonmo, infiltrates a new criminal organization responsible for fuelling a drug trafficking triangle. Starring Ji Changwook, Wi Hajun and Lim Semi, production is currently underway on this exciting new crime drama.

🎬The Zone 2: Survival Mission: Following a breakout first season, veteran entertainers Yu Jaesuk, Lee Kwangsoo and Kwon Yuri return to The Zone for a second season of this beloved variety show that will challenge them to survive several everyday disaster scenarios. 

🎬Soundtrack # 2: Music enthusiasts Hyunseo and Suho met as a vocalist and keyboardist in a college band and fell in love, spending almost every day together for six years. However, once they graduated, the pressures of life began to build and the two eventually split. Four years after their breakup, fate brings them back together again, but will they be able to rekindle what they once had?

🎬Shadow Detective Season 2: Directed by Han Donghwa, Lee Sungmin, Gyeong Sujin, and Lee Hakjoo return for another series of Shadow Detective. With the stakes now higher than ever, will Detective Taekrok be able to solve his final case before it’s too late?

🎬RACE: Written by acclaimed screenwriter Kim Roori and starring Lee Yeonhee, Moon Sori, Hong Jonghyun and Chung Yunho, RACE is about a mediocre employee who unleashes her potential after discovering she was hired at her top-tier publicity company for diversity reasons.

🎬SUPER JUNIOR: THE LAST MAN STANDING: On November 6, 2005, a k-pop group, SUPER JUNIOR 05, made their debut. First leaving their mark on Asia, they rapidly grew, becoming SUPER JUNIOR, and amazed audiences across the world. In SUPER JUNIOR: THE LAST MAN STANDING, viewers are taken behind-the-scenes in a one-of-a-kind exploration of SUPER JUNIOR and its members, offering new insights into the modern K-pop industry.

🎬NCT 127 The Lost Boys (Working Title): Documenting this popular Korean boyband on their 2022-2023 World Tour across North America, Korea, Japan and South East Asia, NCT 127 The Lost Boys will follow Mark, Johnny and Yuta in a series that will track the band's growth and success over the years.

🎬j-hope Solo Documentary (Working Title): Following pop star j-hope in the lead-up to his recently released solo album, this upcoming documentary features never-before-seen interviews with j-hope, a behind the scenes look at his solo album preparation process, his 2022 Lollapalooza performance and a unique look at the album’s listening party. 

🎬BTS MONUMENTS: BEYOND THE STAR: An exclusive Disney+ original, this music docu-series will chart the incredible journey of 21st century pop icons BTS. With unprecedented access to a vast library of music and footage over the past nine years, the series will feature the daily lives, thoughts and plans of BTS members, as they prepare for their second chapter.

Announced as part of the Disney Content Showcase, these Korean Originals were also revealed alongside a host of Japanese live action and anime titles and Indonesian dramas as part of the Company’s ambitious plans to greenlight over 50 APAC Originals by 2023.

This winter, be sure to turn on all the lights and check behind the sofa before settling in to enjoy Gannibal, a heart-pounding new Japanese psychothriller coming to Disney+ (Hotstar) December 28. 

Recently selected to be screened at the Tokyo International Film Festival, and with a trailer and premiere date revealed today at the Disney Content Showcase, this upcoming Star Original is set in Kuge, a fictional Japanese village, and sees newly hired police officer Daigo Agawa arrive a broken man. While things start off promisingly for the new arrival, a series of alarming events begin to unfold that will lead Daigo to the horrifying realization that something is deeply wrong with the village and those who live there. Thrown into a hostile environment with suspense around every corner, will the latest police officer to roam the streets of Kuge village be able to bring those responsible to justice before it’s too late?

Based on the hit manga series of the same name by Masaaki Ninomiya, Gannibal features a unique storyline brought to life exclusively on Disney+ (Hotstar) by some of the biggest names in the Japanese creative industry. Produced by Teruhisa Yamamoto, producer of this year’s Academy Award-winning Drive My Car and Tatsuya Iwakura, Gannibal is directed by Shinzo Katayama (Siblings on the Cape) and adapted for the screen by Best Adapted Screenplay Academy Award-nominee Takamasa Oe, who most recently wrote the screenplay for the Academy Award-winning Drive My Car.

Gannibal is the latest series to be announced as part of The Walt Disney Company’s growing APAC content slate, joining a whole host of stories announced at today’s Disney Content Showcase, including: Dragons of Wonderhatch, a groundbreaking series set to combine live-action and anime elements that tells the story of a high school girl who struggles to fit in with her classmates before being swept up on an adventure with a boy from another world who will forever change her destiny; House of the Owl, an upcoming live-action drama about a revered fixer in Japan who can guide his clients through any scandal; and Tokyo Revengers: Christmas Showdown Arc - the first title to be released as part of the Company’s extended collaboration with Kodansha, that will see former bad boy Takemichi use his accidentally acquired powers of time travel to go back and save his high school girlfriend from being murdered by the Tokyo Manji gang, unwittingly changing the destinies of those around him.

Indonesian stars descended on Singapore today to unveil six exciting Indonesian original series slated for exclusive release on Disney+ Hotstar. Featured alongside some of the world’s most eagerly anticipated global tentpole titles and storytelling from across APAC, today’s newly-announced Indonesian series included: Hubungi Agen Gue! (The Talent Agency) and Wedding Agreement The Series Season 2, in addition to updates on previously-announced titles Tira, Teluh Darah (Blood Curse), Jurnal Risa (Risa’s Journal: From the Danur Universe) and Mendua (Between Two Hearts).

Held at Singapore’s iconic Marina Bay Sands, this year’s Disney Content Showcase included several presentations on Disney’s upcoming slate of theatrical productions from its major studios and unveiled an expanding collection of APAC Originals for its streaming service. Featuring guest appearances from some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry, Indonesia’s segment included appearances from award-winning producer and writer Mira Lesmana for Hubungi Agen Gue!, writer Risa Saraswati for Jurnal Risa, and stars Chelsea Islan for Tira, Deva Mahendra for Teluh Darah, Adinia Wirasti for Mendua, and Refal Hady for Wedding Agreement The Series Season 2.

1. Tira 

From the world of Indonesia’s super heroes Bumilangit, Tira tells the story of Suci, an inspirational stuntwoman stricken with a death curse. To free herself, she must find and defeat nine evil people who possess ancient dragons, only to discover that someone close to her is the evillest of them all. Produced by acclaimed filmmaker Joko Anwar and directed by Zahir Omar, Tira features Chelsea Islan in the title role.

2. Teluh Darah (Blood Curse) 

From the incredible mind of director Kimo Stamboel, Teluh Darah tells the story of a young woman named Wulan whose world view is flipped on its head after witnessing a black magic attack on her family. Driven to protect them at any cost, Wulan will go to the ends of the earth to find out who is responsible and hold them to account. Starring Mikha Tambayong and Deva Mahenra, Teluh Darah recently premiered at the Busan International Film Festival’s “On Screen” program.

3. Jurnal Risa (Risa’s Journal: From the Danur Universe) 

From Danur, one of Indonesia’s most famous horror universes, comes a story by Risa Saraswati about a group of cousins who practice a forbidden ritual over the summer break, leading to one of them becoming possessed. With time running out, the remaining cousins will race to save their loved one from being lost to the spirit world forever. Produced by Manoj Punjabi and directed by Awi Suryadi, two of the creatives behind Indonesia’s number one box office movie KKN Di Desa Penari, Jurnal Risa features an impressive cast of some of Indonesia’s up-and-coming stars.

Adapted from the original French series Dix Pour Cent (Call My Agent!), this dramatic comedy follows four agents in an Indonesian talent agency as they struggle to save their business following the unexpected death of the company’s founder. Starring Donny Damara, Hannah Al Rashid, Yoga Pratama, Lydia Kandou, each episode will feature A-listers guest-starring as themselves. This new series is produced by legendary producers Mira Lesmana and Riri Riza (Ada Apa Dengan Cinta?) and SK Global Entertainment (Crazy Rich Asians), and directed by one of Indonesia’s top directors, Teddy Soeriaatmadja.

5. Mendua (Between Two Hearts) 

Starring Adinia Wirasti, Chicco Jerikho and Tatjana Saphira, Mendua tells the story of Sekar, a happily married woman of 15 years who suddenly begins to suspect that her husband may be having an affair. But what starts off as a fleeting thought becomes an obsession that threatens to push Sekar over the edge. Mendua is an adaptation of the BAFTA award-winning Doctor Foster, originally written by Mike Bartlett and produced by Drama Republic for BBC.

6. Wedding Agreement The Series Season 2 

After the wildly successful first season, Wedding Agreement The Series returns with a gripping new story. Starring Refal Hady as Bian and Indah Permatasari as Tari, season two opens three years after the first, with Bian suddenly deciding that he needs to start over.

The Walt Disney Company Asia Pacific today unveiled an unforgettable slate of upcoming movies, series and new APAC titles for Disney+ and Disney+ Hotstar at a star-studded event at Singapore’s iconic Marina Bay Sands. Featuring guest appearances from the stars and cast of Disney’s new Korean dramas Big Bet, Connect and Call it Love; Japanese titles House of the Owl, Gannibal, and Dragons of Wonderhatch; as well as Indonesian series Teluh Darah, Mendua, Hubungi Agen Gue, Tira, Wedding Agreement The Series Season 2 and Jurnal Risa, today’s event saw the unveiling of over 50 shows to hundreds of press and partners in attendance. 

The showcase featured an expansive slate of global tentpole titles which were first presented at D23 Expo in Anaheim, including:

Closing the showcase was a special presentation of the wildly anticipated Avatar: The Way of Water, directed by James Cameron and produced by Cameron and Jon Landau, starring Zoe Saldana, Sam Worthington, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Cliff Curtis, Joel David Moore, CCH Pounder, Edie Falco, Jemaine Clement, and Kate Winslet. The film opens globally in theatres on December 16, 2022.

The Walt Disney Company Asia Pacific also announced today an expansion of its long-standing strategic collaboration with leading publishing house Kodansha to include Japanese anime. This expanded collaboration will include licensing exclusive SVOD anime titles based on manga produced by Kodansha that will be available exclusively on Disney+ and Disney+ Hotstar, starting with Tokyo Revengers: Christmas Showdown Arc.

🎬 Tokyo Revengers: Christmas Showdown Arc: The first title to be released as part of Disney’s expanded collaboration with Kodansha, Tokyo Revengers: Christmas Showdown Arc will see former bad boy Takemichi use his accidentally acquired powers of time travel to go back and save his high school girlfriend from being murdered by the Tokyo Manji gang, unwittingly changing the destinies of those around him.

🎬 Gannibal: A thrilling live-action adaptation of the hit manga about dark and mysterious disappearances in a remote Japanese village, Gannibal is co-produced by Teruhisa Yamamoto (producer of Academy Award® winner “Drive My Car”) and Tatsuya Iwakura, adapted for the screen by Academy Award® nominee Takamasa Oe (“Drive My Car”). This exciting new series will launch December 28 only on Disney+ and Disney+ Hotstar.

🎬Dragons of Wonderhatch: From the mind of director Kentaro Hagiwara and producers Teruhisa Yamamoto (producer of Academy Award® winner Drive My Car) and Hitoshi Ito (The Boy and the Beast, Mirai) and Hideyuki Wakuta comes the first Disney+ Hotstar original fantasy series from Japan- Dragons of Wonderhatch. Featuring a groundbreaking combination of live-action and anime elements, this series tells the story of a high school girl who struggles to fit in with her classmates before being swept up on an adventure with a boy from another world who will forever change her destiny.

🎬House of the Owl: Starring Min Tanaka and Mackenyu, House of the Owl follows Ryutaro Ogami, Japan's number one fixer, revered for his ability to guide Japan’s politicians and most senior business leaders through sensational and career ending scandals unscathed. In this gripping fictional drama series we follow the fixer as he faces his most daunting challenge yet - dealing with a chain of events that could forever change Japan's politics, while also facing his family - the only people he can't control.

Korea:

🎬Call It Love: Directed by Lee Kwangyoung, the master of romantic dramas, Call It Love tells the story of a mistreated daughter who seeks revenge on her mistress after the sudden death of her father.

🎬Moving: Starring Ryu Seungryong, Han Hyojoo and Zo Insung, Moving is based on a popular webtoon by Kang Full and tells the story of three teenagers who discover they’ve inherited unusual powers from their secret agent parents

🎬Worst of Evil: Set in 1990s Korea, The Worst of Evil follows an investigative taskforce as their undercover officer, Park Joonmo, infiltrates a new criminal organization responsible for fuelling a trafficking triangle. Starring Ji Changwook, Wi Hajun and Lim Semi, production is currently underway on this exciting new crime drama.

🎬RACE: Written by acclaimed screenwriter Kim Roori, RACE is about a mediocre employee who unleashes her potential after discovering she was hired at her top-tier publicity company for diversity reasons.

🎬SUPER JUNIOR: THE LAST MAN STANDING: On November 6, 2005, a K-pop group SUPER JUNIOR 05, made their debut. First leaving their mark on Asia, they rapidly grew, becoming SUPER JUNIOR, and amazed audiences across the world. In SUPER JUNIOR: THE LAST MAN STANDING, viewers are taken behind-the-scenes in a one-of-a-kind exploration of SUPER JUNIOR and its members, offering new insights into the modern K-pop industry.

🎬BTS MONUMENTS: BEYOND THE STAR: An exclusive Disney+ Hotstar original, this music docu-series will chart the incredible journey of 21st century pop icons BTS. With unprecedented access to a vast library of music and footage over the past nine years, the series will feature the daily lives, thoughts and plans of BTS members, as they prepare for their second chapter.

🎬j-hope Solo Documentary (working title): Following pop star j-hope in the lead-up to his recently released solo album, this upcoming documentary features never-before-seen interviews with j-hope, a behind the scenes look at his solo album preparation process, his 2022 Lollapalooza performance and a unique look at the album’s listening party.

DISNEY CONTENT SHOWCASE TO GATHER ASIA’S TOP ENTERTAINMENT STARS FOR “BLUE CARPET MOMENT” IN SINGAPORE | The Disney Content Showcase will take place from November 30 to December 1 at Singapore’s iconic Marina Bay Sands

As part of the Disney Content Showcase, The Walt Disney Company Asia Pacific will be convening some of the region’s biggest entertainment stars in Singapore for a “blue carpet moment” on November 30 at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands.

Top Korean stars who will be gracing the blue carpet include: the cast of Korean crime drama Big Bet – featuring Lee Donghwi (Extreme Job, New Year Blues), Squid Game villain Heo Sungtae and acclaimed director Kang Yunsung.

Expect legendary Japanese director Miike Takashi and an A-list Korean cast including Jung Haein (Snowdrop, D.P.), Ko Kyungpyo (Love in Contract, Cross) and up-and-coming actress Kim Hyejun from the highly anticipated crime fantasy thriller, Connect.

Other top talent from Japan include the cast of suspense-filled thriller Gannibal – Yuya Yagira (HOKUSAI, Asakusa Kid), Riho Yoshioka (Haken Anime!, The Romance Manga Artist) and director Shinzo Katayama (Siblings of the Cape).

Fans of Indonesian content can also catch actor Deva Mahenra representing Teluh Darah, the Indonesian horror series that premiered at the 27 th Busan International Film Festival; Chelsea Islan, the star of upcoming super hero series Tira and Refal Hady from Wedding Agreement the Series.

Pixar director/animator/storyboard artist/voice actor Peter Sohn (The Good Dinosaur) will also join the blue carpet representing his all-new, original feature film Elemental.

Apart from this star-studded blue carpet event, an expansive theatrical and streaming slate for 2023 will be presented at the Disney Content Showcase – including a growing collection of APAC Originals on Disney+ and Disney+ Hotstar, told by some of the region’s best storytellers.

KOREAN CRIME DRAMA “BIG BET” DEBUTS EXCLUSIVELY ON DISNEY+ HOTSTAR DECEMBER 21 | Starring legendary “Old Boy” actor Choi Minsik and “My Liberation Notes” star Sohn Seokgu, the series is directed by the award-winning Kang Yoonseong.

On December 21, step into the shoes of a man who has repeatedly hit rock bottom and is determined to reclaim his life, no matter the cost, when Big Bet debuts globally only on Disney+ Hotstar.

Starring the legendary Choi Minsik (Old Boy, The Admiral: Roaring Currents, New World) in his first appearance in a drama series in over 26 years, Big Bet tells the unforgettable tale of a man, Cha Moosik, who, after a hard time in life, builds himself up from nothing to become a casino mogul in the Philippines. As the story progresses, Cha once again finds himself at rock bottom when he is investigated as part of a murder case. Determined not to let life beat him down yet again, Cha will risk everything he has, including his own life, to get himself back in the game.

Big Bet also stars Sohn Seokgu, a versatile genre-spanning actor who previously starred in My Liberation Notes, Romance Without Love, and D.P., and who also recently made his directorial debut in Unframed; as well as Lee Donghwi, who brought his larger-than-life presence to Extreme Job, New Year Blues, Method Acting, and the widely popular Reply 1988; and Heo Sungtae who quickly became a fan favorite last year with his work in Squid Game, and later with Adamas and Hunt.

At the helm of Big Bet is Kang Yoonseong, the winner of the Best New Director at the 54th Baeksang Arts Awards and the 23rd Chunsa Film Art Awards. With The Outlaws, a Korean box-office hit praised for its high-voltage action sequences and tense narrative that garnered over 6.88 million admissions following its 2017 opening, under his belt, Kang’s distinctively powerful and spectacular directorial vision is yet another feature that makes Big Bet worthy of the hype.

DISNEY+ HOTSTAR’S THE ZONE: SURVIVAL MISSION MOMENTS THAT HAS US ROLLING ON THE FLOOR LAUGHING | Check out the funniest moments that will have you clicking replay over and over again

If you’re a fan of Korean variety shows, you’re probably familiar with the comedic antics of Lee Kwangsoo and Yoo Jae Seok. But when Girl’s Generation member Kwon Yuri jons them, the trio becomes an unstoppable force that’s bound to have you rolling on the floor laughing.

The Zone: Survival Mission is the gift that keeps on giving. From the first episode to the upcoming finale, the series is chock-full of hilarious scenes. However, with much difficulty, we’ve managed to narrow down our top 5 favourite moments of the show.

1. Lee Kwangsoo’s Sticky Situation

The first episode of The Zone: Survival Mission truly sets the tone for the rest of the series. As if having to avoid being soaking wet in freezing cold weather and having to traipse through hurdles wasn’t hard enough, Lee Kwangsoo ups the ante by rolling on slippery glue and struggling to move, which turns out to be the highlight of the episode. From getting stuck on toilet seats to being plastered with ping pong balls, watching Lee Kwangsoo struggle to make it through the episode is slapstick comedy at its finest.

2. Strong, Independent Men Woman

Kwangsoo and Jae Seok’s attempts at portraying a strong masculine image are totally shattered in this series. Not a single episode goes by without the boys calling for “Yuri-ah” to get them out of a difficult situation. Whether it’s carrying a block of ice or staving off a ghost,The Zone: Survival Mission would’ve ended a lot more abruptly without Kwon Yuri.

3. The Pen is Mightier Than the Sword

Kwon Yuri’s determination to get through each survival mission successfully is commendable, especially when she is stuck with a duo who are ready to quit at any moment. As she tries to motivate her teammates, her targeted and witty quips never fail to hit their mark against her less-than-motivated counterparts. Her unexpected jabs and deadpan expressions constantly stun the duo and leave the audience thoroughly entertained.

4. Zombies with Standards

Getting eaten by a zombie is probably everyone’s worst nightmare but for Kwangsoo and Jae Seok being rejected was an even worse prospect. After getting transported back in time to a village full of the undead, they were forced to hold out against the zombies. However, Kwangsoo and Jae Seok soon realised that they were never in trouble as they ironically didn’t meet the zombie’s beauty standards. The prey became the predator as the male duo persistently tried to get the zombies to bite them.

5. The Entirety of Episode 4

As if having to quarantine isn’t hard enough, try having to isolate yourself in a haunted house. When the trio arrived at a quaint-looking house they immediately expected an easy mission, but they soon discovered that many spooky surprises awaited them. From Kwangsoo grabbing onto Yuri’s legs to hearing grown men scream every two minutes, the entire Survival Zone episode will have you in stitches.
